MILWAUKEE, WI — A man and a woman died Saturday after a two-vehicle accident near Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport in south Milwaukee, according to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Milwaukee Police Department said the fatal crash happened in the 1400 block of West Layton Avenue at approximately 3:00 a.m.
An early investigation indicates a 29-year-old man was driving eastbound on the road when his vehicle cross the median and struck a westbound vehicle.
His passenger, a 30-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died that afternoon.
Authorities said the occupants in the westbound vehicle sustained minor injuries. It was unclear whether or not they were transported to a hospital.
As of this writing, no details have been released regarding a possible cause of the crash, but an investigation was in progress.
