MILWAUKEE, WI — Three people were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a single-vehicle wreck at the end of a police chase near northwest Milwaukee’s Long View area, reports FOX6 Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Police said the collision occurred near the intersection of North 76th Street and West Hampton Avenue at around 1:30 p.m.
It was unclear what prompted the pursuit, but authorities suggested reckless driving may have been a factor.
Shortly after the chase was called off, the driver, a 20-year-old man, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to strike a tree and erupt into flames.
The driver and two passengers, a 32-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, all suffered serious injuries and were transported to an area hospital.
Authorities said guns and drugs were found in the vehicle and that the men were arrested and now face pending charges.
