MILWAUKEE, WI — A 74-year-old man was hospitalized Friday after being struck by a vehicle near the Milwaukee River in downtown Milwaukee, according to FOX6 Milwaukee.
Milwaukee police said the incident took place near the intersection of North 2nd Street and West Wells Street at approximately 11:50 a.m.
An early investigation indicates the driver, a 47-year-old man, was making a right turn onto West Wells Street when he hit the male pedestrian in a crosswalk.
Medics rushed the victim to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. No updates on his condition have been disclosed.
Authorities said the driver was taken into custody and will soon face charges from the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
