MILWAUKEE, WI — A 13-year-old child was hospitalized Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle near Atkins Triangle in Milwaukee’s Arlington Heights area, according to TMJ4.
Authorities said the incident occurred near the intersection of North 10th Street and West Atkinson Avenue.
Details are limited, but Milwaukee police said the child was walking in a marked crosswalk when they were hit by a driver who fled the scene.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. No further information on their condition has been released.
Police described the suspect vehicle as a white 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe with likely front-end damage.
An investigation was underway.
