WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI — A Wisconsin State Patrol cruiser was damaged Wednesday evening when a driver rear-ended the vehicle at a crash site on Interstate 41 in Neenah, reports WBAY.

Authorities said the incident occurred near the ramp to County Highway II shortly before 6:30 p.m.

A trooper was investigating a multi-vehicle wreck and standing outside of the cruiser when it was hit by a driver who failed to slow down while passing the emergency vehicles.

No injuries were reported in the event, but the collision took the WSP vehicle out of service.

WSP said a combination of high speed and icy road conditions contributed to the crash.

No further information has been released on any citations or pending charges.
