MILWAUKEE, WI — Two emergency medical technicians were injured, one critically, last Tuesday when a Bell ambulance was struck by an MCTS bus in Milwaukee’s Hampton Heights area, according to TMJ4.
The crash happened near the intersection of North 54th Street and West Villard Avenue on December 7.
According to Bell Ambulance, two of their EMTs were in the back of a legally parked ambulance with lights flashing when the vehicle was hit by a Milwaukee County Transit System bus, knocking it on its side.
More than a week later, one EMT, a 30-year-old man, remains in the hospital and has been moved from the ICU to an inpatient room. A second EMT has since been released and is recovering at home.
Authorities said the driver and sole occupant of the bus sustained non-fatal injuries, but no further information has been disclosed on their condition.
An investigation remains ongoing.
