WAUPACA COUNTY, WI — A 26-year-old pregnant woman was killed last Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 10 near Weyauwega, according to We Are Green Bay.
The fatal incident happened on the westbound lanes near Reek Road on December 23, at about 9:30 a.m.
Wisconsin State Patrol troopers said the victim was driving a Chevy Malibu east in the westbound highway when she collided head-on with another car as it passed a semi-trailer.
Authorities confirmed both the woman and her unborn child died as a result of the her injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle, a 19-year-old woman, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Her two passengers, a 41-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, also were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
No further information has been shared at this time on a possible cause of the crash.
